Ian Davidson is a Heritage Consultant and Chartered Building Surveyor working in Scotland. He has over 35 years’ experience working with the built heritage there, mainly with the National Trust for Scotland caring for many of the nation’s most important historic buildings. In 2017 he set up his consultancy, offering conservation planning and project management advice and support for cultural heritage. Over the last few years, he has been engaged with local communities, private individuals, and professionals to support their aspirations.
Ian is a visiting professor at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, he chairs the conservation accreditation panels for the RICS in London and Edinburgh and is the Heritage Consultant for Braemar Castle, Torry Development Trust and Westburn House Development Trust. His clients include the National Trust for Scotland where he is a special project advisor.
